Find your departure

Look up your flight number and travel date on the airport’s departure page. Confirm the operating airline if your ticket carries a codeshare flight number. The terminal and gate can change; keep checking the airport displays after you arrive.

Check official departures

No live departures board is hosted on this guide. The official airport page and your airline are the places to check current flight information.

Before leaving for the airport

  • Check your airline’s recommended arrival time and its check-in, bag-drop and boarding deadlines. There is no single deadline that fits every journey.
  • Confirm your terminal in the official airline directory and in your latest flight information.
  • Check required travel documents for your route with your airline and the relevant authorities.
  • Check baggage size, weight and restricted items with the operating airline, including rules for batteries and special equipment.
  • Plan the route to your terminal and allow for queues, walking and any terminal transfer.

Find your airline’s terminal and check-in information.

Check-in and checked bags

Online check-in does not always remove the need to visit a counter. Document checks, checked bags or special assistance may require another step. Keep your booking details and boarding pass accessible, and retain any baggage receipt.

Use the counter or bag-drop service your airline specifies. Availability of kiosks and self-service bag drop depends on the airline and flight.

Security: check your actual checkpoint

Frankfurt’s official guidance distinguishes CT-equipped checkpoints from others. Rules for liquids and removing electronics are not uniform across the airport. Transfer checkpoints and some Terminal 1 checkpoints retain the smaller-container rules. Check the official instructions for your gate, your onward airports and the day of travel.

Read the current security and liquid rules. Follow the staff instructions at the checkpoint.

After security, check the gate displays again. A boarding deadline is earlier than the scheduled take-off time. See terminal orientation for route planning.
